Every dance has its own characteristics.  Dance in 2D project is focused on defining dancing in two dimensions, emphasizing these different characteristics which make every dance type unique among others.

 

In the project, 10 chosen dance types are visualized as 2D images, exhibiting the projections of the most characteristic figures of them. 

 

In order to create the 2D images, the Kinect sensor recorded the areas that the dancer's body scanned as she performed the basic figures. This data is converted to 2D images with image processing and 3D modelling software.
